Mr. Watson started his career in the oil and gas industry as an associate with a Fort Worth law firm, focusing on drafting oil and gas title opinions.  He most recently was the Assistant Managing Partner of a Houston-based law firm which also had offices in Fort Worth, TX, Canonsburg, PA, and Denver, CO, and which prepared oil and gas title opinions for all of the major shale plays in the United States.  He was previously an underwriting attorney in the Southwest Regional office of Fidelity National Title Group, Inc.  Prior to that he was a partner at Bracewell & Giuliani, LLP, in its Real Estate, Energy & Finance Section.  Mr. Watson has served on the Board of Directors of the State Bar of Texas and on the Board of Trustees of the Texas Bar Foundation.  Mr. Watson has been a member of the Real Estate Forms Committee of the State Bar of Texas since 1995.  He was an Adjunct Professor from 1991 to 2000 at Baylor University School of Law teaching the Property Law and Real Estate Finance courses.  Additionally, Mr. Watson is a frequent lecturer on real property and title issues for professional organizations.  He has been Board Certified in Commercial Real Estate Law and Residential Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1983.  A Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, Mr. Watson has been named as a Texas Super Lawyer in real estate law by Law & Politics and Texas Monthly.
